1959 ESPEKA Diamonds is founded
1981 Eli Kaufman splits from ESPEKA Diamonds and creates EFD, a new company specializing in fancy cut diamonds
1985 EFD moves to a larger office
1987 EFD and Spencer Diamonds (Hong Kong) form a partnership
1988 EFD becomes a Diamond Trading Company Sightholder
1989 EFD opens its first manufacturing facility in Thailand
1993 EFD (TH) Ltd. is established as the headquarters of EFD’s presence in Asia
1993 EFD and FD Jewelry (Hong Kong) form a partnership
1995 Extension added to factory in Thailand
1998 EFD moves to a larger office in Maccabi Building
1998 ETY Inc. (later re-named EFD (USA) Inc.) is established in New York as the as headquarters of EFD’s presence in North America
2000 EFD further expands its reach in the United States with the opening of an office in Los Angeles
2000 Recognized as the 5th largest diamond exporter in Israel
2000 EFD develops the design for a new, superior princess cut diamond, PrincessPlus®
2002 ETY is re-named EFD (USA) Inc.
2002 EFD Jewelry Ltd. is established as EFD’s major jewelry manufacturing plant in Changmai, Thailand
2003 PrincessPlus® – The Brighter Princess Cut®, is launched in the United States
2003 EFD sales offices are opened in Orlando, Florida and Chicago, Illinois
